Hey all, I'm looking for some advice – I'm looking to get a Gravel Bike on a little bit of a budget. Probably mostly for road use initially, but I don't want to rule anything out.

The two second-hand bikes I have my eye on are –

2022 Giant Revolt 1 XL ($1,100 AUD)
2021 Trek Checkpoint SL5 58 ($1,700 AUD)

Both are in great condition and have done 1,500-2,000ks. Are these prices reasonable? The Trek is more expensive, but I'm wondering if it's worth the extra investment?

Any insight you can provide would be greatly appreciated. I'm not very knowledgeable on this.

  1. Aesthetically I like the Trek. The diamond shape is so much more pleasing. The dropped seat stays never appealed to me.

I like the Giant frame but I barely can see the components on both bikes. Both can be used as road bikes, just change the tires and you good. I don’t think you need to spend extra $600 on the Trek one. Instead used that money on another set for road wheels.
Well that’s what I would do, get a 50mm wheelset one for road rides and the the other one for city rides
