So my tire size is 27 1 1/4 will I be fine on a short gravel section for a few months? I'm gonna buy new tires because these are the original tires from 1983 lol. But with new tires will it do good?
Throw on some Kenda Kross or similar and some Kool Stop salmon brake pads, and send it.

The issue is your wheel size is the old road standard, before there was such a thing as ‘gravel tires’… you are going to see that your options will be very limited.
When shopping for tires, they must be
ISO 630… in other words it has to say 630 somewhere on the tire, or it’s the wrong size.
A better alternative would be spending a little bit more $ and converting the bike from 27-inch wheels to 700c, but that would require new wheels.
