Hi, I've recently purchased an old bike that I'd like to restore to its original condition. The seller advertised it as an early 1980s "Giant Cadex" and it has Cadex stickers on it. I don't think it is a Cadex though as they seem to have been carbon lugged and this is steel lugged. I have reason to believe the early 1980s is accurate though according to its original use case being a university commuter for his father.
It has a Tange CR-MO double butted tubing frame according to a sticker on the seat tube, which looks original, might this help with identification? I've had a comment on another subreddit suggesting that this may be a Panasonic bike, which from a google search looks promising as the frames and lugs look very similar.
Any suggestions or information would be very gratefully appreciated, I'm brand new to this and really excited to breathe some new life into this bike. Thank you, Michael.
