I have a kids huffy bicycle, but a crash seems to have stripped the threads on this “screw”. I want to put pegs on the back tires so my younger one has a foot rest when they ride together.
Are there longer versions of this “screw” for the pegs?

[Axle](https://www.danscomp.com/search?cID=&s=axle), ur local bike shop would have it at the best price.
That’s called the axle. You would need to have the rear hub rebuilt to put a longer axle on the rear wheel. I’m not sure about how pegs are attached, you may not need a longer axle
Don’t buy pegs that screw on!!! They ruin the axle threads. Get pegs that you bolt on instead.
You’ll need to take the current axle out and attached to it are the cones that preload the bearings, so the bearings are also gonna be loose. Good time to clean and regrease all of that. It’s not terribly difficult if you have the correct cone wrenches and find an axle that will work. Take pictures as you disassemble so you know the order to put it back together
Stripped?
Axle
You wanna put pegs on the back of a BMX-style bike so one kid can stand behind the one pedaling? After you acknowledged a crash? Do you have a crush on a doctor at the ER or something?
And stop over tightening the axle nuts. The supplied picture seems to show the pyramid shape of the thread near the frame has been distorted to a leaning shape of pyramid. The whole thread has nearly been stripped.
