Extreme Exploring of Germany!/”Hidden” Most Beautiful Germany Cities/Wurzburg and Other Little-Known Gems

Welcome to the Rob’s field. Dream come true. Let’s [Music] go. Wow. [Music] Sometimes people ask us, “Why do you bicycle across Germany 3 months a year on bikes? Isn’t that difficult?” Yes, it is difficult. And are you scared? Don’t you get lost? Yeah, there are problems. Yes, we are scared. Sometimes it’s hard. [Music] But sometimes we find these hidden treasures that not even one in a thousand people take the time to get off the road and and come back. But this is the walled city, the medieval city. And look, here’s the watchtower over [Music] here. This is from a long time ago, probably eight or nine hundred years ago. This was a walled city. I’ve never heard of it before. And we came within this much of passing by on the bike trail because we had to go several hundred meters to get into the town. I thought I don’t should I should we go? And we did. We took a chance and we found the most amazing medieval experience here. It’s called Ibelat. And almost no one knows about this place. I guarantee you even even as as adventurous as we are, we almost missed it. And at just the last second, we turned in and out. Yeah. Wow. Are we happy that we did what a grand adventure this place is. [Music] Oh, Donna is very happy. What? Why is he so happy? Oh, he found our guest house. Here it is. Look. Oh, look at this. Look, look, look. You’re underneath this big half timber. Half timbered. We didn’t even notice. It’s right next to our Gasta House. Yeah. Let’s go. It’s the Gast House. Mo. Oh, this is cute. I think we’re going to stay here. [Music] [Music] Good morning. It’s the beginning of day three and you’re looking out the window. Yes. Yeah. Look at our hotel. It’s I got a gorgeous view. I’ll step out on the balcony here and look. It’s stunningly beautiful. It’s the gorge of the mine river. It’s right there. There’s big cliffs on each side. It’s really beautiful. And it’s Sunday morning in Germany. And there’s no one [Music] out. But first, we need to go down to our hotel breakfast. It’s free. It’s included with the price. This is our hotel dining room and it’s a buffet. It’s included in the price of the hotel. So, it’s basically a free breakfast, I guess. And we have the whole place to ourselves. You have your German cafe. Yeah. Let’s walk to the buffet. Let’s see about there. Let’s go. Let’s go to the buffet. We’re the only people here. We get up early, but it’s only about 700 a.m. So, I’m surprised there’s no one out yet. Everyone’s sleeping late. But the typical German breakfast is sliced cheese. You get some salami, some pickles, which I don’t The salami is a little strange here. I don’t know. Oh, here’s the ham. These are nice. The salami and the ham. This is nice. [Music] Look, there’s a boat. There’s the boat. The boat. That’s actually a barge, huh? That’s a big one. Look at You see the canoe? The canoe’s going to chase the barge. They better go faster. Oh, they’re they’re hitting some waves. Look at this path here. It’s gorgeous. Look, these are willow trees, which we don’t see in Germany very much. And they’re a little different variety, but they’re German willow trees. But look at the beauty of this path. Here, I’ll back down the path. You can see how pretty. Here we go. [Music] [Music] We got another little problem. But this is this is easy to fix. Yeah. Come on. It’s not that hard. We’re on another bridge crossing. Yeah. And this is this is not a car bridge. This is a train bridge. It’s a little regional local train. And we are going that way. And we’re going to cross the mine river. What an adventure. Okay. Ready? I’ve got to tell you the truth. My wife can’t hear me, so don’t tell her. But she’s very nervous about narrow bridge crossings like this and then hills. And we we bike thousands of miles across Europe every year. But she’s a very timid sometimes biker. But you did it. You did it. I did it. We’re entering Bersburg, which is a very tourist, beautiful, medieval city. And we got here exactly 12 minutes. I’m not making this up. And if you can hear in the background, there’s many churches, but there’s a lot of cathedrals all across the city. And they’re all ringing their 12:00 noon bells. What a great Welcome to Bersburg. All the bells in all the cathedrals of Bersburg are ringing for us. Welcome to Bsburg. Where? Birdsburg. Birdsburg. Your your German accent. Yeah, Versburg. It’s Versburg. We are here. We were here a long time. Last year. That was last year. About one year ago, but we are back again. And it’s quite beautiful here. Here’s the mine river. And but the big attraction here in Bersburg is up there. It is the Fest Doom Marianberg. It’s an amazing place. Oh, look. Here’s some love locks. Love locks. The love. It’s what? The love and the locks. It’s the love and the locks. And what you’re supposed to do, did you know you’re supposed to lock the lock with the key and then you throw the key into the river? And then that means that you will stay together forever. Wow. [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] Well, in Versburg, one of our favorite places is right here. It is the Bersburg Cathedral. There’s my wife ready to go in. But this place is special. On the inside, it’s the purest white church. The pure white church with gold. Yeah. Let’s go in. It’s amazing. I usually don’t shoot the cathedral interiors that much, but this is one you’ve just got to see. Let’s go [Music] [Applause] inside. Heat up here. [Music] Heat. [Music] Heat. [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] Heat up here. Heat. Heat. [Applause]
