Hey guys, I'm somewhat new to cycling but keen to learn about repairs, maintenance etc. I have this really bad clicking/ticking noise when under load (accelerating, hills, etc), what could it be? It doesn't make this sound when not under load. I originally thought it was coming from the headset, but now believe the sound is from the cranks. I have done the following:
– Lubed seat post/saddle (this eliminated some clicking)
– Tightened chain ring bolts
– Loosened stem/handlebar bolts to make sure not over-tightened
– Have ~1/2in play in the chain, so the chain isn't overly tight
My bike journey hasn't yet covered bottom brackets, hubs and cranks, so I'm not familiar with what can go wrong with these components. Bike also makes a knocking noise, but that might be another issue for another day.
Bike is a State Undefeated single speed. Any input/suggestions greatly appreciated! Thanks!
