  1. You don’t need it but ir would go on the outside to stop the valve dropping inside the rim. That might be a small risk on deep section rims or wide tyres.

Outside just like the washer in a normal tube. Not really needed but 🤷🏼

  3. I can def see the protect it from the rim. But

My initial thought was outside so when you’re pumping up, it’s blocking the valve from going into the rim

OP. Here are the instructions from a TPU tube supplier. The O-ring is effectively a replacement for the lock ring on a threaded valve stem, which isn’t really needed in most cases.

    > 4. Valve: Before installing the M-WAVE PURride, turn the valve inwards towards the center of the tire and pull the fitted rubber sealing ring off the valve.

    >5. Inflation: Inflate the tube with a maximum of 0.5 bar/8 PSI so that it is round.

    >6. Insert: Insert the valve through the valve hole and insert the tube into the tire. Make sure the valve is aligned straight in the valve hole. Slide the supplied sealing ring onto the valve from the outside and make sure that the tube is not twisted or caught between the tire and the rim.
