Managed a 50km after cycling for about a month & doing around 30km every weekend. Pushing for 75k and 100k next!
The last hour was hell due to a very dragged out climb (had to walk a few times) but how else do you get better at hills if not doing them lol.
If I keep this up I'll save for a road bike, although I'd hate to neglect my gorgeous MTB 💔

Great job, when I started cycling, Maximum I could go was around 20km, considering that I am overweight, in a few months, I did my first +100km ride and ~50km rides feel easy. keep up the good work 🚀

  2. The best way to get longer distances is focusing on getting your speed up more.
I found that once I was averaging doing 25km/h or more that I was able to do the longer distances better.

What I mean is try and do more 35-50km rides and see if you can do it under 2hrs. I think you’ll see better results in the long term this way.

buy some slick tires and lock out that fork if you haven’t already.

Get electrolytes into your body 1 hour before riding. Drink every 10 minutes, eat every 30min..

Once I followed this I was able to keep a steady 15-18mph for 100 miles..

    great job and good luck!
