I had the same problem with that saddle as well. Don’t know why they designed it that way – it serves no purpose whatsoever. In the end I put the straps through the part where the rails are attached and it worked fine. In the end I eventually got a better saddle (for a variety of reasons)

Most saddlebags fit the same way, or use a bolt-on mounting system that also won’t work for you. I think the problem is your saddle, not the bags. If the buckles really won’t fit through that plastic slot and you don’t want to change saddles then you might start looking at aero racks instead.

  3. I got around this problem with the same saddle by adding a saddle bag stabilizer.
However 5km before my destination that plastic broke. Would not recommend

I assume the buckle won’t fit through slots towards the back of the saddle (circled in red).

The easiest solution might be simply slide your saddle back a bit so more rail is behind the seatpost and you can thread the buckle through in the green circle. Then put your saddle back into the original position and enjoy. It won’t be quick to remove the bag, but it’s cheaper than buying a new saddle with normal rails.
