Today my chain slipped of into my frame and this is the result?
Is the frame dead or is there still hope?
Had the bike for 4 months and im crying right now. Im located in frankfurt germany in case anybody knows a good local adress to get it fixed.

I donβt think it will break any time soon, but I would protect it with finishing tape.
Tbh I would get it checked at a local bike shop. Looks like the carbon took quite a deep hit. Not worth going down Feldberg with 60 kmh and suddenly kissing the road.
I’ve seen an older Look carbon frame with a large hole there that was still being ridden. Just keep an eye on it and see if any cranks start spreading from the damage.
Carbon is quite easy to repair. In the UK there are several firms who could repair the damage and paint like new.
You should make sure the front derailleur is set up correctly so the chain cannot fall off again.
Itβs fine. I have the same bike. Happens all the time, because the bottom bracket is a thick boi.
Watching eagerly as I have similar damage. I removed my chainring and felt the roughed up area, noticed that itβs chipped/abraded paint and the carbon looks fine. My working assumption is that these areas will be a little more prone to damage and overbuilt as a result. Going to cover with clear nail polish.
I think it will be alright but if it happens again it might be terminal, really bad design, my bike has an indentation there with a thick gel like protector so when my chain dropped it just damaged the protector, had a Cube Agree GTC 2011 which had a triple crankset and on first use the chain dropped down and got wedged, long story short I had to warranty the frame as the BB shell delaminated from the Carbon frame.
I see so many sayings about carbon fibre being stronger than aluminium or steel, but I see a lot of damaged carbon fiber frames in comparison, is it just a gemmic?
would this happen to an aluminium frame?
Totally not a helpful comment, but i thought this was a photo out the windows of the ISS.
At first glance that looked like a Meteor in front of a blue Galaxy photoraphed out of a spaceship ππππ
Quick update:
Went to my local bike shop and its just the paint and the first layer if carbon thats damaged. I just need to keep an eye on it and it should be fine. If it happens again its propably game over for the frame tho. Gonna try and ask cannondale if they have a program for refutbishing and see if i can get it fixed.
Tldr: dont shift on bumbs, cut xour chain to a propper size and if the chain slips instantly stop putting preassure on it.
Thank you all for your input. Apprechiate it. π
