Motorcycling through Kosovo – Peja to Prishtina

Come along for a ride as I leave Peja and ride up to the border of Serbia to check out a lake. From there I stop in Mitrovica and onto a bear sanctuary for an up close look at some furry friends.

good morning guys and girls and welcome to Pia in covo this is where I’ve been staying up there on the floor there and um so today we’re going uh Upland in Kosovo towards the Serbian border uh Caso is pretty small it’s only about 230 km wide and probably the same north to south uh this is where this is where we are and so I’m going up going up here today but I’m stopping at a cave on the way and then I’m going to a lake and I’m going to end up in mitraa and pristina’s down here so uh probably 2 and 1/2 hours all up I suppose uh I don’t know if the caves are open uh but it’s only about 12 km from here so I’ll pop in and uh see if it’s open um yeah and go and have a look at the lake up by the Serbian border uh supposed to be quite pretty uh likees called V vit yeah what does that say Gaza Gaza vodo lake so uh yeah and it’s qu to 11: in the morning starting to warm up a bit now starting to get quite cool in the mornings actually but uh yeah let’s get on the road [Laughter] [Music] w [Music] [Music] he [Music] [Music] he to [Music] [Music] [Music] oh [Music] [Music] w [Music] [Music] [Music] yes so I didn’t manage to find those caves earlier on but uh I saw online that they usually charge two uh which obviously means there must be a ticket office but uh it’s the end of the season uh it’s coming into winter so uh couldn’t find it all closed down for the winter period but uh this is what I came to have a look at this Lake yeah so there’s a restaurant about 6 and a half kilometers up the road so I might go up there I don’t know if it’s open but uh it’s not far and the road uh hugs the lake so it should be a nice ride so uh up around this way well this is a restaurant that I came to the only one along the shores all closed up bit of a bit of a beach down there and now C closed up for the winter season so um I have to backtrack from here um and uh go to what town am I going hang on a minute yeah I’m going to the town of mitrava so I got a backtrack and it’s about 3/4 of an hour but um just up the right that I was on uh very close to the Serbian border the Serbian Border’s about 10 km I think so um yeah we’ll carry on we’ll go back the way we came around the lake and go to Metra [Music] oh [Music] [Music] hello hello hello yeah so1 21 for pitol here it’s quite cheap isn’t it I think cost me 10 to fill up from pretty much empty hi like a americano coffee [Music] [Music] w [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] so this is my apartment in Metra in cifo got me own kitchen bathroom [Music] wash machine that I’ve done while washing bedroom Lounge that was a proper flat this is mraa so a ride in um town uh main drags only 2 minute walkway just over over there yeah it’s gone uh it’s about quart past 3 I think but um sunsets halfast 4 so it is moving in towards winter it’s a a little bit chilly [Music] today and this is40 37 but uh yeah nothing nothing cheaper that I could get in this town but um it’s pretty nice pretty happy with that [Music] is get I’m a little bit hungry I go have some [Music] breakfast cheese hello is that meat yeah meat cheese I have one of those with meat yes [Music] mints and cheese [Music] [Music] [Music] my M oh M my [Music] hey my m oh [Music] M all right going and have a look at some beers eh [Music] hello hi Vis it yes okay 250 much 250 yeah so 1 and 1/2 kilm all the way around so nice little walk I can see a beer a spar over here I’m walking around on circles I stop now oh there he comes back around around on a circle back over there turns around back again I suppose it’s happy it’s good not of varas to walk in now the beer’s off now and I think that might be the food truck it’s chasing the truck yeah food time oh that’s that’s a second [Applause] beer there supposed to be a lion in here somewhere oh I think I see it think it’s over there here it is right here it’s down there there’s three of them right here A Sign Here warning us about Stone Viper the Via and amidites which is a venomous snake species we advise you to be cautious when walking in nature especially when considering sitting down to rest so keep an eye out for snakes wow what beautiful animals there’s another one behind the bushes you can’t really see it oh oh look at this big one it’s massive he’s the Big Daddy in it’s got T atire on the back of that two atars New Zealand is a New Zealand lizard this one standing up they’re waiting for their food my battery’s going to run out so I think there’s about 20 beers here I think I’ve seen most of them here’s a here’s a beautiful one see they know they know the food’s coming he’s he’s uh dribbling at the mouth Yes I hope you enjoyed that uh video going to Musta and uh skirting around the outside of Pristina so I’ll leave that video there uh next video will be riding into Pristina and looking around the town I’ll be there for 3 days so give me time to have a look around and uh get some other stuff done as well so uh thanks for watching
