Welcome back to day 57 of biking from Norway to South Africa and day two of biking in the Netherlands. Today was a super short day. Actually our shortest day of the whole trip. We only went about 15 miles or 24 km. Um we were biking to Arnum and meeting up with my dad tomorrow. So that’s why we had such a short day. We had a lot of like things that we needed to get done before he got here like laundry work, getting him a bike, all of that sort of stuff. We biked on really lovely paths all day as to be expected in the Netherlands. And then the road ended up into the water and we had to take an unexpected ferry which was kind of funny. Usually like our route will give us a little heads up about that but this time it was just like nope here you are. So we loaded up on this ferry and made it to the other side of the water before continuing on to a grocery store. And in the like 5 minutes after the ferry on our way to the grocery store we got absolutely poured on and then of course it stopped right when we got to the grocery store. Um, but that’s okay cuz we were able to eat our food outside and then we biked the rest of the way to our Airbnb and we were really excited cuz we were going to get to watch the Netherlands play in the semi-finals of the Euros. Um, and yeah, it was a really lovely and easy day. We’re super excited for the next nine days or eight days of biking around the Netherlands with my dad. It’s going to be so much fun and Alex planned such a fun route through like national park and cities and it’s just going to be so great. So that’s all for today. I’ll see you tomorrow. Bye.
