Old bike that i use for shopping, bb was never fully in ( It was gifted me last year but is old) and since i took It apart some month ago, i couldnt get to fit It right, some one has experience or "tricks" to fix this?

See the other side with the adjustable lockring on it thats fully seated? Yeah that side goes in second the side you are trying to fit second goes in first.
I always mount the fixed cup on the chain ring side first.
Then, I’m mount the left side and adjust it properly for preload.
