for a bike part company “fixyation” focused on fixed gears really fails the user design for the side spaces for pedal straps lol
my jank ass would get a cheap soldering iron and melt that plastic so it would fit the straps thru… I’ll probably never do that cos it would probably compromise structural integrity.
Personally i’d refund and buy some aluminium mtb pedals cos pedal strike is inevitable.

Go through the first the gap on the exterior and around the part that doesn’t have a gap on the outside, I think should be fine

I recently dealt with something similar if you look at my last post of my Brooklyn machine works. I was using a slightly different strap but the pedal and strap design looks almost identical. My straps may have been thicker from the Velcro actually. You just have to be very determined with a set of needle nose pliers. It took me about 45 minutes.
