Hello everybody,
I upgraded to a gravel bike to go for longer bikepacking trips. Was about to install a fork pack but can‘t get These plastic ‚placeholders‘ out. I don’t want to use too much force as the fork is carbon and i‘m scared on ruining it. Bike is Rose Backroad AL.
Would appreciate the help 🙂

Use your fingernails.
If these bolt hole covers are rubber gromets, just use a small screwdriver (5mm or less) to pry them out or tweezers and pull them out. If plastic you can probs just slowly pry them out with a screwdriver by sliding underneath the edge and twisting or prying up.
You will not damage the fork unless you hammer at it – the bolt hole is typically a small piece of aluminium that’s embedded in carbon anyway.
I would be more worried about over tightening the bolts, the fork pack overloading the fork, or some piece of the pack rubbing on the fork. You will likely need helicopter tape somewhere on your frame.
fingernails or a small plastic wedge. if you’ve got one of those orange lego wedges laying around that works
Have you tried twisting them? They’re probably screwed in.
Tooth floss might work. It is designed to fit in tight space and is surprisingly strong. Just try to put it behind, wrap it around a couple of times and pull
I wouldn’t be prying anything. You start using a lever against soft paint and you are going to get damage. They should come out really easy but if you are struggling…
If they are rubber get a sharp bradawl and puncture them in the centre then hook them out.
If they are hard plastic a small drill in the centre and then a long small wood screw then pull them out using that.
This is a set of bradawls in case you were wondering.

Lots of good ideas already. My go to is some guitar pick looking pry tools from an old computer fixing kit I’ve used for similar things.
Update – trying to pry them out with 2 small screwdrivers. Still not out yet. What Material is Rose using for this!

Use a small screw half way inside and then pull the screw head with a pair of pliers
Have you contacted rose?
These plugs have hooks, grabbing into the threads, so to make it almost impossible to pull them out. Best way is to unscrew them.
You can heat the tip of screwdriver with a lighter, push it into the plastic, wait for it to cool down, unscrew.
Another way: take a squeezer or a tiny side cutter (like the ones, that bike shops use to cut cable zip ties), bend the plastic disc up, so you can grab and unscrew it.

Self tapper and a mole grips.
Drive the self tapping screw into the middle. Lock the mole grips on the self tapper and yank.
Update 2:
Thanks for all the replies and different suggestions! I now contacted Rose as those are crazy tight (see Update 1) and I am too scared of ruining something if I continue.
I will see what Rose`s solution to this is and make an update here as, to help people with this problem in the future.
I didn’t try some of the suggestions (e.g. self tapper or bradawls) – for me those would be a last resort solution or I don’t even have the tools for that.
If it’s threaded, maybe you can just turn it, by pressing like a pencil eraser or some other soft grippy thing against it. It’s sitting in a threaded hole anyway, which may be why it’s holding fast.
If it works, you also won’t destroy them, which is nice.
Can’t you go to your LBS and ask them to get it out? Why risk damaging your frame finish.
