A ride from Longfield in Kent to Cobham, also in Kent.
For the past 5 years I have wanted to try going all the way from home to Rochester in Kent on 1 May ‘May Day’ to visit the Rochester Sweeps Festival. Each year until now something has prevented that happening.
1 May 2025 – attempting to go by electric wheelchair 38.5km from Pratts Bottom on the outskirts of London to Rochester in Kent. This video is the third 10km beginning at Longfield in Kent. Longfield is more urban than the country lanes I was on earlier, with a direct fast rail connection to London. Heading through Longfield towards New Barn village, then a brief uphill stretch to Longfield Hill. After Longfield Hill it is back to country roads surrounded by open fields until Meopham. From Meopham I go through Sole Street village continuing to criss-cross the railway. Join me as I trundle along in the spring sunshine to reach Cobham in Kent.
