I got the bike a little over 3 months ago. Now recently I was cleaning the bike and I found that what it's on the picture at the seat tube. I took the bike to the local Trek dealership and was told by both Trek customer care as well as LBS that they can get me brand new frame, but I have to pay for labor. What do you folks think about that?

Part of me thinks it's just paint inspection, but it might also be a frame damage. 🤷🏼 Confused on what to do.

This is gen 3 Top Fuel with carbon fiber frame BTW

  1. I would not be paying anything out of pocket for a defect on a 3 month old bike

That’s not frame damage. I’m not sure you know what frame damage means. It’s just a paint/cosmetic defect.

It’s also a mountain bike, so I guarantee you are going to swap out a frame for a small cosmetic defect and within 2 rides crash and have a new cosmetic defect.
