…and honestly, I never expect tight berms like that to be completely covered in loose gravel. I really don't understand what's the point of it since it was definitely made that way, when all the other berms in this bikepark were pretty much gravel-free and I could just fly through them without too much thought.

After nailing several jump lines, I made an oopsie on the green line..

Skill issue, you need to put more weight on the front so you dont slide out

I used to go to killington every year and every year (literally) there would be at least one tourist on a rental bike in a tank top with no skin left on one arm/shoulder from wrecking on a gravel/loose rock work road. They were probably riding it because they thought it was easier. Loose gravel is not easier, it’s the worst.

It’s always like that! A few years ago I did a full day of black laps at the bike park. No issues. On the way back to the parking lot, I spun a pedal on a green trail and chewed up my calf. Eight stitches later…

  5. your bike should be on the inside of the turn in relation to your body, especially on loose stuff. You put your body on the inside like a motorcycle racer but the dynamics are the opposite since you are the heavy part of this equation. This technique would have forced you to pull your bars hard left and down toward the inside of the turn therefor weighting your front end. your back tire would have slooshed over when you broke traction but it would have been a save. have fun. all of that is extra hard to do when you just nailed some fun jumps and are tired and adrenalin pumped.

Me and my buddy both crashed quite bad on the green lines at bike park Wales. One thing we figured is that the greens might actually be configured to be fun at low speeds. Hit the met high speed and everything is too sharp/close together

Is this a UK forestry commission trail centre by any chance? They are so bad for just dumping loose coarse gravel on the flat corners of flow trails and assuming it’s fine.
