  1. Structurally it’s nothing to worry about. But on a new bike you paid new bike money for this is unacceptable. It can happen tho, so don’t blame your LBS too much, but they will definitely sort this out for you.

  2. If it’s new with warranty send it back. In my opinion it’s not unsafe but you can push them to give you a discount or a higher spec model maybe

  3. A new bike should not come with damage. You spent a lot of money on this, don’t budge an inch. They owe you either a refund or full replacement.

Dont you have 14 days “angrerett” in Sweden? In Norway basically all purchases have statutory 14 day cooling off period. If you aint happy – return it.

If this was me, I would not be happy.

  5. I would be on the phone sorting out a return that’s unacceptable for a brand new bike out of the box

Yes, bent aluminium is not as strong as it was designed. Also, even if this does not affect the frame’s structural integrity, I have just spent a lot of money on a brand new bike with significant damage. I am sending that back straight away.

Not even sure why you need to ask Reddit on this one. You got a broken bike, take it back. Period. Why ask us?

It sucks that new bike day was tarnished by this, but there’s no way in hell I’d accept it like that. “Hi bike people? Your bike is coming back. Send me another. K thx”

I’m sure it’s safe to ride. But unless they can give you a huge discount on that bike and you get money back, I’d return it.
