First time bike-owner. Trying to reattach front wheel but the brakes here I’m confused about connecting back together.

Just got this bike this morning (Pedal brand) and to fit it in the car we had to take the front wheel off and I've put it back on but I'm confused about how to connect this bit back. I've looked up videos but it seems different this one is different.

Also the right handlebar brake doesn't seem to stay in place so I'm wondering what's going on there too.

I'm wondering how to fix this?

Again, I'm a complete novice to this so I apologise if this is a simple fix.
