hey there fellow brompton enthusiasts. i'll try to keep this short and sweet – i own a 2018 P6R and recently purchased the brompton-specific quad lock. unfortunately, it looks like the OEM shim that was initially installed on my bike is too wide to accomodate the mount.
i am new to DIY bicycle maintenance, so my questions are:
- does anyone with a P bar (or anyone else that just happens to know) whether or not the shim is even necessary for the 2018 P bars?
- if a shim is necessary, does anyone know where i can get a shim that is no wider than the handlebar stem clamp?
i'm a bit annoyed at this because i only bought this due to brompton's customer service assuring me that the mount will fit my P bar. i made sure to ask since brompton does not allow for returns if the item has been opened. thanks in advance, i appreciate any help.

I thought the refreshed lineup with A/C/P/T was all after 2020. It looks like the P line was announced at the end of 2021 and prior to that it was called the Super Light.
Maybe I’m missing something, but if it’s from 2018 it wouldn’t be a P line, then. Are you sure it’s a P-line?
