A tyre boot would get you home to cover up the hole. But change the tyre asap. For the nick in the rim.. check it isn’t cracked. Probably file it down/take the sharp edges off so it doesn’t impact the new tyre, and chew up your brake blocks.

  2. You can boot the tire or use a dollar bill to continue riding to safety.

As for the rim, a metal file and little sandpaper will be enough, you simply want to avoid that area scraping your brake pads.

Sand the rim down, it should be fine. Tire could probably be patched with a boot in the short term, but I think it’s dead.

tire patch on the inside, should be good. Stitch it up with fishing line if you need ( did that on my mtb and it lasted the rest of the life of the tire )

I always feel the difference when I get new tires, for the better, such that I wonder, why did I wait so long?
