Bought this old raleigh on Thursday. Finished putting it together yesterday afternoon. Less than 24hr later got wiped out by an uber eats driver smashing into me head on, because he came around a corner doing easy 25mph and couldn't keep to his own side of the path.

Look, I’m sorry that it happened, but uber eats wasn’t in control of that oncoming traffic. Person going too fast for conditions is a selfish asshole regardless who they work for
Where I am, have to be alert all the time while riding and contend with gazillions of delivery motorcycles that try to get into every inch of road, and sometimes pop out of nowhere, inches close to crashing into me just because they’re trying to beat the clock.

You didn’t mention ebike, but it’s becoming a problem where I live. The riders go way too fast and aren’t paying attention to what they are doing. It’s a serious safety hazard.
The rim is toast, but the wheel can be rebuilt. If the frame is damaged it can probably be straightened.
