I know the chain is stretching a bit, I'm already planning on replacing it, but does the chainring also seem like a problem?
I've put in around 1 year of use on the bicycle (~2500km) but I've not been that dilligent with keeping the chain clean, so it could explain why it's stretching so fast. I don't notice a big impact on shifting, although sometimes the chain takes a moment before moving between gears on the cassete (happens a bit randomly).

You’ll need to do chainrings, and cassette as well. Most likely pulleys on your derailleur.
Most cassettes and rings have maybe 3 to 4 chains of use before needing to be replaced.
You can tell you need to change yours from two things the chain not sitting correctly in the teeth and the fact the teeth on the ring looks like shark tooth
That huge gap between the chain and the chainring means the chain is extremely stretched. Is 2500 km a typo? It seems more like this has 25.000 km on it. I would not expect the chainring to still be usable with a new chain.
If a chain stretches it causes excess wear on the chainrings and cassette. If you dont keep your chain reasonably clean the dirt it attracts turns into what is effectively grinding paste accelerating wear on the chain, chainrings & cassette and I’m sorry to say you can see quite a lot of dirt build up on the chain and cassette. Add these together and you are probably looking at a complete drivetrain replacement.
the chain is very stretched. it is possible that you chainring and cassette may still have life in them. Change a new chain and see if the shifting is fine or if the chain skips in places.
Clean the drivetrain when it’s dirty like that – all the sand and stuff are grinding away your components over time.
Looks like you have to replace big chainring, chain and most likely also the cassette.
Yeh she’s gone mate. New chain, new chainring.
Chain is definitely worn. Replace it and then you’ll see under load if rings are fine.
