Had to extend chain to be able to shift all 10 gears, but not sure if this is ok. I added one extra middle link and one extra quick link. It shifts fine now.

Yep it’s fine. I’ve had 7 quick links in a chain once. The chain worked fine till it was retired at 0.5% wear.
Twice as quick.
Seth’s Bike Hacks on YouTube made an entire chain out of quick links. No issues you’ll be fine.
As long as they are quality links, I’ve had KMC fail and seen lots of the BBB ones just pull apart. Never had an issue with SRAM though.
