Really into my new (second hand) Roadlite but don’t totally dig the colour. Has anyone had theirs resprayed / refinished? Unsure whether the frame would ‘take’ a new layer?

On aluminum it’s doable. Remove all the components, polish the frame then spray paint
Definitely possible. You basically paint a bike the same way a car is painted. Same products and process. Can be done DIY but best if you have practice and patience. Better results from a pro.
New paint can be sprayed over the existing paint but it must be scuffed first so there is some tooth for the new paint to adhere to. Existing paint acts as a solid primer base.
Either goto a pro or goto a auto body supply place and chat with them. Materials are expensive but you can get excellent results with experience and patience.
