The race itself starts in Ljubljana, Slovenia, goes through a part of Croatia, 2 islands, and finishes in Trieste, Italy. 520km in total. The route itself is amazing, from the smooth Slovenian gravel to the rocky Croatia island trails. Highly recommend to anyone thinking about doing such a race in this part of the world!
This was my first bikepacking race, or bikepacking trip of any kind tbh. People told me I should prepare, go do overnighters, etc. but I just didn't have the time. I kind of yolo'd it. And I had an absolute blast, did much better than expected and now I'm hooked! So, folks, just do it! I'm now looking forward to doing more such races and some solo (or not) trips. Maybe try to get into Badlands one year, maybe even hop across the pond to do some of these in north america (maybe after the orange baboon is gone…).
