Looks like you ripped off the callous. Now you gotta start building it up all over again.

Gnar!
One of my favorite things to do when a customer can’t get a tire on after trying for hours, is to do it front of them with my hands. Pop! Never ripped my hand open, but definitely gave myself tennis elbow for a few weeks.

I wrestled with getting a tire off of a rim yesterday for about an hour. It took forever to get both beads into the center of the rim because the sealant and electrical tape the previous owner had used as rim strips just didn’t want to let the bead move.
Once I got the beads free, the tire was so tight on the wheel I could barely get a lever underneath a bead. I eventually gave in and put a heat gun on it for a bit. That got it relaxed enough to pry it over the wall of the wheel, but I still had to fight to get the first side off of the wheel.
My forearms and elbows are killing me today. Nothing like what’s going on in that photo though.

There is never a reason not to use levers.. it’s easier and it gets the job done faster

I’ve done that before, granted the hole was way smaller than that.
