Hi again, I posted for drop help like 2 months ago and was just looking for anymore advice on my drops now that I’ve improved a good bit. This is just a little backyard setup as trails are closed due to weather. Just looking for any more advice on my drops before I commit to my first bigger drop at my local trail. I think I could be a bit lower at the chest? Any advice appreciated, thanks

You are pre-loading and then pulling.

Instead, move your weight forward as you come up to the drop, and then as you pass over it, move your weight backwards at about the same speed that you are going*.

    * The goal here is to have both wheels land at the same time. You will have to adjust body movement speed based on the height of the drop and how fast you are going.

Those are the two videos I’d watch on the topic. Looks like you’re trying to bunny hop here, which is generally not the right technique. The basic technique is to move your body weight back, you look more like you’re moving your weight *up* like you would on a bunny hop. Instead of pulling up on the bars push out on them.

Learn how to bunnyhop first, it’ll help you with this and much much more.

  4. I’d suggest finding an actual drop first ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|joy)Try a curb if you’re scared, chin over bars, pedals level, bent out arms (you know, proper riding posture), then time a good push right as you ride off the drop.
