This is my first u-brake bike, so we’ll see what the fuss is about. The bike is all stock with the OG 6-speed Deore drivetrain and thumb shifters. The decals are in surprisingly great condition, but the paint had multiple chips and rust spots that I touched up with poorly color-matched nail polish. It’s definitely rider condition and that works for me right now.

I’m building up the exact same bike right now. Picked up at a local bike swap meet. I think it had a rear-end accident because the rear wheel was replaced and the dropout was super tight making it hard to put the wheel back in. Did some frame stretching with this hack and it added a few extra mm.
