Hi All,
After a few years of taking off from mountain biking I am ready to get back into the game and have been looking at purchasing a new bike. My background is more XC hardtail style bikes when I was racing but now looking for a more all round or trail style bike with full suspension and at least 120mm travel as comfort is my priority now. My experience with technical singletrack is pretty good growing up in Cape Town and prefer more flowy style tracks with some rock gardens, roots and nice berms. Not looking at taking big jumps or anything.
The two bikes a have been looking at is the Canyon Lux Trail CF 8 2024 (€4.000 new) or Scott Spark RC Comp 2024 (€2.800 ridden twice and still under warranty).
Compare: 2024 Canyon Lux Trail CF 8 vs Scott Spark RC Comp – 99 Spokes
Seems that spec wise the biggest different is that the Canyon has Shimano XT while the Scott has Sram NX and I know that XT is better than NX for sure and I have good experience with Shimano but have never ridden Sram before.
Does anyone have experience with either or both of these bikes?
And is the €1.2k enough of a price drop to go with the Sram group set and maybe replace at a later stage if it wears more quickly?
Looking forward to your responses!
Thanks!
