Good lights front and rear at all times, even in the day.
Spare tube, patch kit, pump, tyre levers, multi tool.
Educate yourself on basic maintenance (Tube/Tyre change, wheels in and out, gear tune, bolt checks)
Contact point upgrades (Saddle, grips and pedals).
If commuting, I always spec the most robust tyres I can get (Schwalbe Marathon Plus). Last thing I need is a flat on my ride to work.
And lastly, keep it serviced. Lube the chain when needed. It will treat you well.

I must have a bike, shoes, a tube and tools to fix a flat should I need to. The rest is optional.

  3. Shoes are a must because of my pinned pedals. The rest is optional. Well.. maybe some clothes, to not disturb people.

    Leisure/training
Glasses, helmet, gloves, bib cycling shorts.
Emergency cash/card. Mini tool kit and basic first aid kit.
    CO2 canister.

Head unit and heart rate monitor for me.

I ride with power and a rear radar, but not essential. I just love the data baby.

  6. Adding to what others have said. Ass Saver, Quadlock mount and bar end mirror.

  7. Lights front and back. I prefer cheap ones because then you’re not far out when they’re stolen, and cheap ones with stretchy attachments go on quick. Water bottle cage. A little bag for under the saddle that carries your bike tool and a spare inner tube. Personally I need SPD clips and shoes and the flip-style pedal that lets you choose whether you are riding with regular shoes or clips that say. A bell, because they are joyful.

  8. I have a small saddle bag on my gravel bike with the basic tools (multi tool, tyre levers, spare tube) and 5-10 € in case i have to get a bus or train when i can’t fix the bike.

Your bike looks sick by the way. May i ask which one it is?

A rear rack and panniers big enough to hold half of a 30 pack of Pabst Blue Ribbon in each one.
