After years of MTB riding, most of it in urban settings with a hardtail, last summer I tried a gravel bike (Checkpoint ALR5) fell in love with the speed and then upgraded to CF over the winter.

This one caught my eye on marketplace first for its look (that brushed copper finish!), it's a "rare" model well a 2019 limited edition from this local brand in Québec and also because it came with some nice goodies that made it a good deal (well that's what I convinced myself lol)

Looked at it for a few months and when spring finally came I got to finally ride it! Made around 300km on it so far, I had some bikefit ajustements at first as its a large 56 (in inbetween 54/56) got a new stem and tried diff saddle height/reach/tilt. Then after getting comfortable with it I wanted to use the clipless XTR pedals that came with it so I had to make the switch to clips (still getting used to it…) also "had" to get a wahoo to make use of the powermeter that came with the bike, but this upgrade was already planned and i've been having a lot of fun to geek over the data and learning a ton… but still can't keep Z2 lol!

Overall it's a fucken blast and feels much faster than my previous gravel bike (strava's PRs confirms)
