Know idea how it happened. Was at work and realised it was abit wobbly on way home. Thought maybe tyre pressure but boy was I wrong. I've tried to true it myself but I have a crappy spike key and nothing else. Will a LBS be able to true it good. Bontrager rims on a trek x caliber 7.

They should be able to true it
You could do it yourself with a zip tie and the key. Look up on YT how to do it. It’s not hard if you have some understanding.
I’ve fixed worse myself, although it does somewhat depend on why it’s like that. Can’t tension your way out of a badly bent rim
I did a similar one recently.
You can true it
It’s a really good idea to get a cheap tension meter (ebay/amazon)
Use the parktool website to keep track of the spoke tensions. When it’s even and under the limit, it’ll prevent the risk of breaking a spoke.
Dont worry about making it perfect.
Just good enough until you save up for a new wheel or rim.
But yes! You can save the wheel, just take your time with it.
We’ll give more advice if you need any
I have seen worse than that be fixed.
I’ve done worse to my own wheel. You can get a wheel 80% true in 15 minutes, and then spend hours getting the final 20%
Sounds like you’re short on time. I think you can quickly make this ridable in 15-20 minutes and then have an LBS finish the job later.
Sure, I’ve trued worse
Absolutely, I’ve fixed way worse wheel
According to my 9 year old, who’s … ‘worked’ his wheels, anything can be made round again with the right hammer.
If you can feed him for 3 days you can borrow him. Have ear plugs 😉
This one’s a bit crooked which will be more challenging to deal with, so I recommend bringing it to an LBS to true it. I also suggest straightening out that rim strip, it’s kinda folding in some areas. You can carefully pry it up with a plastic tire lever or something that won’t damage it.
For more simple truing, I think it’s okay to do it yourself but this one needs more attention.
Disc brakes helps this situation. Even if someone can’t get it perfectly true it’s not going to effect your brakes. Pretty wobbly rim there, hopefully your wheel tech has good skills.
