But Pison powering to the line. Can he hold them all off? Pedison. Tom Pitcock coming very close now. Pitcock against Pison. But Pison all that strength. My word that was close. Who’s got there? They look down. Pison might just have edged them all out. There was a challenge there from Bahrain. Victorious too. That was perhaps too close to call. The longest stage of the Jirro Italia, 227 km from Potensa to Napoli out of Pasilicarta and down to the Tyrannian coast. A day for Mads Pison to try and hunt out a fourth win at the Jedalia and probably a day for the GC contenders just to get through ahead of the sterner test to come later on this week. Mass Pison then in pink for another day lining up in Potenza with a forecast that did threaten later on a little bit of rain. A long neutralized roll out as they climbed steeply out of Potenza just a foretaste of the orals to come. A really active start then as the race got underway at kilometer zero. After an initial pause, there was a very strong group that got off the front powered on by Josh Tarling of Inos Grenaders. And for a while, the race was hard to control as they went uphill in the opening few kilometers. Lorenzo Jamani of Groupama FDJ got across to the group at the front. But that wasn’t the end of the attacking and it wasn’t the end of the attacking from Inos Grenaders either. groups then came together eventually with Vizmissa bike trying to control things and once it all calmed down again there was an attack from two riders. Initially it was Taco Vanderhorn of Antto Mari and he was joined once again by Groupama FTJ rider this time the young Frenchman Enzo Paleni. They hit the big climb of the day the category 2 climb and there was a counterattack from Lorenzo Fortonato and Lucas Hamilton of Inos Grenaders through the first sprint then the two riders taking the maximum points. Fortunat though counterattacking and getting across to the front of the race in time to take the maximum 18 points in the King of the Mountains competition. So the leader of that classification then zipping up as the rain started to fall and dropping back to the pelaton leaving just Taco Vanderhorn and Enzo Pellini off the front of the race. They went through the second sprint of the day at Leone in the same order with Pellanei ahead of Taco Vanderhorn and then Jensen Plowright took the second sprint for Alpasinda Kernik and Maz Pison out of the points with Olaf Koy picking up three points over the second categorized climb and final categorized climb of the day. Then before on the descent then a huge crash on wet roads and a rapid descent in excess of 50 or 60 riders either delayed or on the deck. Ji Hindley among them and the race was neutralized while the ambulances tended to the sick. Eventually when they were restarted there was news of an abandon for Ji Hindley and the pair off the front were restored to their 48 second advantage. They hung on to that lead for quite a while as well attacking with renewed vigor. In the meantime though Maz Pettison the race leader who’d gone down in that crash decided that was the end of his day. The race commissers then decreed that all GC positions would be neutralized and there would be no points at the end. Eventually, Taco Vander Horn and Enzo Paleni were caught, but only within the last 2 and 1/2 km and a chaotic sprint unfolded. Vernard now committing to this move. Can Venard hold them off? Ward doing what he does best. It’s PY visit Malta off with Mosceti on his wheel hoping that this comes back. Vanard though tying up. It’s not going to be his day. Vanart will have to wait for another day. PY visit Malta with Lonardi and then Mosqueti. Here comes Olaf Koi the other card to play for Vizma Lisa looking for fighting for room alongside Mosceti. It’s a dirty sprint. Ky sits up. Kaden Groves hits the front. Gross is going to take the win. Chaos at the line, but the Aussie got it right when it mattered. Kaden Groves in victory. Alas into Kernik. What on earth was going on there? That was a sprint that had no rules, no control. It was chaos in the final kilometer. Kaden Groves then the winner of stage six in chaotic circumstances at times making his way to the podium at the judo for the second time in his career and a first win of 2025 as well. The Australian then the winner ahead of Milan Freta from Kofidis in second place and Paul Manet in third and a battered and bruised Maz Pison continuing to lead an unchanged top 10 in the general classification and still with a mighty lead in the Malia Chicklamino even if Olaf Cory closed by one point. Lorento Forunato extended his lead handsomely in the King of the Mountains but he came down in that crash and Matias Vachek continues to lead by the same margin in the white jersey standings.

First.
It is not Mathias [Vaček] (like Pogačar) – it is Mathias Vacek. Č is not C in pronounciation. It is czech name.
Where I can watch this commentator? I really like him
I'm impressed with roglic not crashing

In the closing meters of the sprint finish…..a block done dirty — in hockey, it would have been 2-minutes for boarding.
Moschetti da arresto
Again poor positioning from Paul Magnier. Pretty sure he can beat all of them if launched properly
Taco van der hoorn is the king of breakaways. He would have had the win if not for the pause in racing.
A dirty and no rules sprint.. you can bet an Alpecin rider will always come out on top.
Hindley 🙁
These would be so much better with race audio
ma dove e' Jonathan Milan?
