My previous bike got kicked by some drunken assholes, so I had to buy a new one.
(Or maybe I just saw this subreddit and my brain took the opportunity.)
I'm new to the game, but I'm really into the idea of bikepacking.
Does anyone have experience with this frame or any tips on things like gearing, racks, or bars?

I have those tires on my trek 820.. they really do the trick! Safe riding and depending on how that reach feels/ how your riding style is you could play around with the handlebar position 👍
this bike has the eyelets for a rear rack and a big triangle for a frame bag
Tubus is good, or anything sturdy that will fit a 26 inch bike. probably one with pannier bars so you can load it up for a weekend
also you can put 3 bottle cages on this bike which is a big plus for extended trips. there’s cargo carriers that bolt into those as well
