I had to park my ebike outside for a while and here’s how I did it first I locked the cafe lock to protect the back wheel and then I used the folding lock to lock the frame to the parking ring I used the smaller folding lock to secure the front wheel to the ring and then I use the U lock as a redundancy to lock the frame again I removed the battery and the display took off the handle bar Ms and all the removable lights because if somebody attempts to steal this bike they’ll have to work for it

💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽absolutely necessary!!
i think you forgot the alarm too
I use an adequate, minimal lock, plus a brake lever lock and a very loud alarm because I never leave my ebike unattended outside out of view of myself for more than a few minutes on rare occasion.
Imagine spending more on locks than you do the actual bike. That’s crazy
How about the seat?
You need the tiny chain lock for it!
And also use 2 motion alarms!
They are like 40 bucks between each other!
Also, I would use the Skunklock Carbon or better yet, Abus Super Extreme 2500 anti-grinder U-lock to lock the rear wheel and frame because the latter has the width and length to cover it!
Toronto is so bad now, they should have secured parking with an attendant to watch bikes and e-bikes like in Vietnam. Sadly with a portable angle grinder stealing this bike would only take 5 minutes.
Ft Knox has nothing on you, girl. Smart. 🙂❤❤
Looks like a Gazelle. Don't forget you removed the battery!
It’s a joke how people can steal so easily. Where is the law?
Ck out the kryptonight Forgetaboutit bike lock. Found on Amazon. It makes using a grinder difficult to break the lock.❤
What a world—full of vultures waiting to pounce on it instead of working for it
This was nine months ago. This system has worked since, and you still have your E-bike? Hope so, curious
Seems like overkill but you gotta protect your investment
I know an easy fix for this problem, but the goddamn Ottawa treaty doesn't allow anti-personel mines.
soon enough well be paying more for the locks than the bike itself..
I would do the same, and my bike isn't even electric
Locking that bike take longer then a journey…
I Just carry a gun and the bike is not left aniwhere where i cant see it
cost benefit analysis tells me to peddle …get some exercise too. ebikes or expensive bikes not worth it and TO is flat.
I recently got a bike and I am considering pairing 1 alarm lock with 1 D lock. Im hoping the both of them is enough to dissuade thieves. Please has anyone got any thoughts or advise.
Yep I do the same here for my bike, nothing is foolproof but the idea is to make it so it's more of a time consuming hassle than it's worth!
So about 20kg in locks then have to carry around a 5kg battery
I've now got three locks on mine, one tracker (but I'm going to add a second)., registered it with vault (and got the vault micro dots), insured it… yeah, my previous bike got stolen before Christmas at my local shops (locked in front of the main entrance). My shops are near the train station, so have parked at the station in secured cage (but this is annoying). My current locks are: chain, folded, and wheel lock. I've also gone for locks that have colours or patterns.
I just bought a ebike and it will be here in 4 days and I was wondering how to protect it when I go to town…thank you for sharing…great video
Personal advice from an engineer that started commuting and went full aut1stic mode on anti theft measures:
-buy an angle grinder resistant u lock (onguard rocksolid best value) and use the back triangle lock technique (Sheldon Brown docet), if you want extra security for front wheel and a pitlock nut is not enough buy an abus mini u lock.
-buy a full set of pitlock bolts and nuts to secure wheels fork and seatpost.
-all other hex bolts can be secured in different ways: small neodymium magnets inside the hex bolt hole>remove with another strong magnet, ball bearing inside the hole sealed with candle wax(remove with heat) or epoxy (remove with acetone) or soldered (most secure, but you need to desolder it at home), least secure option use security torx screws.
-Do not park outside for long intervals in the same spot at the same time. Absolutely avoid parking it outside at night if possible.
Nice, but 6 kg in locks… wow
My u-lock weighs 3.5lbs, but because it's strapped to my e-bike I don't care. I keep a cable for the wheel and seat in my back rack milk crate, and an alarm. Honestly, I'm still always worried when I have to lock it up. I always laugh when I see someone use a dollar store lock, or they just loop it through their front wheel when locking.
So much weight, and sadly all very ineffective locks. Cheap bolt cutters would make quick work of all of these.
How much is the price of all the locks on the bike?
Don't laugh at this owner, she only ensure the bike is still there when she returns .she is smart .
Good one, add a knog alarm to it 85 db , my bike recently got stolen absolutely gutted
, I will be doing this on my new one definitely.
I got my ebike stolen 2x in Philadelphia. Now im going to do this I got 3 lock and 2 airtags If it get stolen again ill be ready this time. I dont blame u this world is crazy no a days.
It ain’t that serious! 😂 just park the bike in a heavily populated area or in front of a store that has cameras… people be spending just as much on locks as they do the bike!
Sad thing is having a e-bike in the city there's no such thing as too many locks I have four on mine
Someone unto my own heart, lock it down.
I use two kryptonite chains and two u locks good luck
Unfortunately no whatever high amount of locks can protect a bike from idiots damaging and destroying it.
I have no numbers, but I think that happens much more often than that bikes get stolen.
How much does all those locks cost? Plz
Wish we had the amount of public cameras China and Britan have and make theft min 10 year sentence.
Rule of warfare: Don't be an easy target.
I'm not mad at her she making sure no on steal her shi 😂😂😂😂
So you removed the battery, so did have the carry that battery around with you?
Another thing to remember a lock is only as strong as the thing it's attached to. Some of these bile racks are easier to cut than the locks. I have 3 locks on my bike and a tracker, and I still won't leave it out of sight for more than a few minutes. It takes away the joy of riding, having to worry about it being nicked.
they cant even take your battery without a key you're just showing off.
Hey that's my work out if it's 20lbs I carry 20 in a book bag but I also ccl holder so let's play
Love it! You have to outsmart the thieves! You have to love your possessions to understand why cyclists have to protect their bikes this way! 💯👍❤️
And if all that fails, just buy a bank with a vault!
With that much metal on it, it is no longer an e-bike, it's an e-tank.
