The serial number will be viewable on a Shimano derailleur. Some you can see if you stand in back and pull back on it, some you can see if you look through the spokes from the non-drive side.

Looks like a long cage Shimano Deore XT, for the speed count the cogs on the cassette
XT 11 speed era. Maybe m8000? They never came in silver to my knowledge.
I’m not an expert on recent MTB derailleurs, but to me it looks like a [Deore XT M8000](https://bike.shimano.com/en-NA/products/components/pdp.P-RD-M8000-SGS.html) or similar with the black paint stripped off and polished.
