Looking at getting a carbon fiber mtb bike and have a max of $1500 to spend. Not sure what to go with. Either a new 2023 hardtail Exceed CF 5 or a used 2019 full sus Strive CF 6.0.
Please help give me pointers/suggestions as I am relatively new and don’t want to regret my purchase. Owner on the Strive said he could do $1500.

Totally different bikes. I’d go for the Strive myself, although the price seems quite bit steep for where I’m from.

exceed is essentially a pure XC bike. strive is an old-school enduro, probably would be called a trail bike today. the exceed will be a blast on fire roads and green, some blue trails. the strive is more at home on anything blue and rougher. If you have no proper trails around you the exceed is probably more suited. That being said, there are also some steps in between like lux trail, neuron, spectral and of course the analogues from other brands.
