I’ve gotten a few questions when I post my bike about how I carry stuff if I don’t have a bag on my bike so I figured I’d post this.

I use a size large Rapha Essentials Case and put this stuff in it. It also has room for my phone.

I don’t always carry the bike lock, only if I know I’ll be stopping for a coffee or a beer. If I’m on a long ride and especially alone, I’ll add another CO2 and also a TPU patch kit.

  1. I run a similar setup in a smaller pouch. Saddle bags are simply too unattractive. I know, I know, it sounds vain. Haha.

  2. under seat bag …. or frame bag ….or handle bar bag ….. I use a under seat bag for most of of the stuff you have pictured …also carry a day pack …for bike lock, another CO₂ cartridge + pump

I use a Craft Cadence case. Not as big as the one pictured but it’s excellent, durable and waterproof. It takes phone, cards, money, puncture repair kit and tyre levers. Could probably squeeze a tube in, at a pinch.

    I don’t like frame bags.

  4. Only add is an old ID. The $20 is there in case I need a beer and ID to prove I can buy said beer. (kind of kidding because needing a beer sounds better than it is there for the paramedic.)

  5. I tried a cycling wallet. The main annoyance for me, was having a sweaty jersey back pocket. I’m already a heavy sweater, just made it more uncomfortable on rides.

I also tried to avoid the saddle bag, due to aesthetic reasons. But reverted back to it, just more practical for my riding needs.

Yes, that’s right, Pogacar does not have a saddle bag.

Do you know what Pogacar does have? 3 cars following him with spares, and people with refills standing along the route.

    Just get a saddle bag.
