Was riding Mike Levine Lakelands Trail in Mid-Michigan today.

At some point in time this late winter or early spring, a vehicle drove a good portion of the trail. Not sure if it was a maintenance vehicle or someone doing something they aren’t supposed to. Either way, when they did it the trail was obviously really wet, as it left tire ruts on a good portion of the trail. Some of them are pretty deep.

Don’t really know how, but my tire caught the edge of the rut just right and I couldn’t save it. Went down pretty hard.

Got what is effectively road rash on my left elbow, shoulder, and shin/calf. Both hands pretty scraped up. No head injury, helmet did its job.

Pride very, very hurt.

Bike is fine, just twisted my right brake lever. Already fixed it.

Still not sure exactly how it happened. I guess I just wasn’t focused. Oh well, off to tend to my wounds.

Ouch sorry to hear that. I was curious what model of wheels you have?
