I'm not an expert on bikes, but a year ago my friend helped me to build a sort of road bike/fixie combination. I quite enjoyed that one and wanted to recreate something similar (I left the country, had to leave that bike). Bear in mind I'm a student and my budget is quite tight.
Anyways, to the point. Got this bike off FB market as it was the right size and in good condition in comparison to other options. Paid a 110 euros. Bought newer wheels with fixie hub for another 80eur. So now I'm faced with dilemma, wether to try and take this bike apart and build something from it, which will still cost me extra and quite a lot as buying parts separately gets expensive. Or just sell this one and get something newer or nearly fully built.
The front wheel needs repair as it's not straight, the frame is well kept, I assume it's very old but couldn't find much about the brand, doesn't feel like of great quality. Could only find someone selling it for 300 euros somewhere in Europe. Anyways my dad pointed out that there are some interesting parts in it. This bike is equipped with drum brakes and also has an internal gear hub, so the gears are enclosed inside the rear hub.
Sorry for bad photo quality, I took it from the FB market post, I left that bike in a storage, will take some better ones next time. So should I fix that wheel and perhaps do some maintenance to try and sell it for a little more? FYI, vintage bikes in decent shape go for around 200 euros, probably less. But perhaps some bike geek could get interested in those weird parts?
