Welcome back to day 63 of biking from Norway to South Africa as part of our journey to bike around the whole world. We are in Antworp this morning and we stopped at this delicious sandwich shop that we went to yesterday and literally picked up six sandwiches to take with us on the road. Then immediately after we took this like bike elevator to take you underneath the river and across to the other side. It was super cool. It led to this like tunnel and there were so many people walking and cycling through and then we took a wooden escalator up to the other side. We stopped soon after to eat the first of our sandwiches. Truly, they’re so good. If you’re ever in Antworp, go to Oliver’s Salad and Sandwich Bar. It’s amazing. We biked along this railroad trail all day. Um, it was really lovely and had really good signage and was always letting you know like which direction to go and how far you were from the next town or the next like stop on the trail. I wasn’t feeling 100%. Had kind of a stomach ache for most of the day. So, we listened to some podcasts to help pass the time and it worked so well. When Alex was back in Bergen, he made friends with someone in the hostel who is traveling and in Gent right now. And so, we met up with him and his girlfriend and some of their friends and it was so lovely. We all had some drinks and some good conversation and it was a really lovely way to break up the day. We met up with them in the center of Gent and it’s currently Gentfest and so there’s so many people around and so much going on and just super lively. We had to bike a little bit further to our hotel after hanging out with our friends. So once we got a little bit outside of the city, we stopped and ate the rest of our sandwiches before biking through the sunset to our hotel. As we were biking, the sunset was so beautiful. We passed this like strawberry vending machine, so we had to buy some. And there were some of the best strawberries I’ve ever had. The perfect way to end a super long day. That’s all for me.
