Storm Ciaran On The Solent

Took a ride down to Southsea seafront during Storm Ciaran to see what was occurring. It was wet and the wind got progressively stronger as the day progressed. It was most invigorating.

morning welcome to RTR TV I did decide to come out storm caring the rain is on and off you know I thought I’d take shout under this lovely tree next to this water fountain I’m actually going to show you this water fountain I’ve walked by it a thousand times but never really read it so yeah I’ll show you to the memory of Charles MC I can’t quite who died November 18 at RS crossed on there this Fountain was erected November 1889 I believe few of his friends belonging to the Royal Portsmouth Corinthian Yacht Club of which club he was the founder in the year 1880 yeah Fountain restored yeah quite interesting somewhere from me lean the bike as well so the plan is I’m going to head to Old Portsmith down by uh round Tower which is other way R started again quite a lot of shelter under here but uh I’m going to Brave it this is the round Tower obviously yeah look how choppy that is this is the entrance to Portsmouth Harbor it is very choppy indeed looking at the harbor over the goport over there well I think I might move on to hot walls now I don’t know if i’ be able to get to that probably not they probably shut it off cuz you know it’s going to be very choppy there I would have thought it’s actually not too bad it’s all right still really quite blustery but they have got the um oh F on the Move wind blowing it probably they have got the flood barrier up to stop it flooding the Broad Street nice little slope for me to test the bike motor out on yes easy look at that blew me off course in a bit stop all right so there you got the round Tower Square Tower Harbor entrance all the way over there pretty dark looking Cloud there I must say sun coming through over there nice want to take a ride down here down to the fair over there Clarence Pier hardly any people down here I don’t know I just expected more people you see where some of the uh shingles come over it was pretty uh pretty blury last night then there there was a bit of a low I think we were in the eye of it at that point but the wind has started coming back oh getting blown along now don’t need a pedal yeah some pretty wild water here some pretty wild [Music] water good test for the new sea defenses I said it before in another video nothing looks more uh depressing than a fair that’s shut down for the winter arcad is still open though see if the other CFT running I severely doubt it of a craft would normally pull up over there no sign of it over there the at the overcraft port or out to seea fairies out there though wind’s blowing me along again yeah just gone past the hovercraft there and it’s just temporarily suspended would you believe no no doar oh look can show the common [Music] now size of that puddle soundy common think around here well with that barrier the barrier still up I think the floodings got worse a little [Music] bit W sure if I was allowed on to this bit there the catarang over there the rocks for the seed defenses they’re building or going to be moved don’t worry cuz you can’t actually see the oil of white when you’re get next to it I haven’t actually pedal for ages I’m being blown by the wind every now and then I’ll give it a little kickart and then it I’ll just the wind keeps me going coming out the good old sassy Castle when I go up that hill there I don’t know if I’m in the right gear to get up there but I’m in ped S5 so let’s go no soaking or skateboarding sorry I’ll get off when I’ll get up here here yeah easy peasy right I’m going to get off and film a bit we still doing the sea defenses here as you can [Music] see still working on the hang on still working on the seed the fences by the pyramids all the way out to near enough South PR here going to go and have something week see car be me hope you can hear me but there’s a nice little outo here sit here and have a Cornish pasty I got a flash so I’m going to have a coffee and um I got a pot of um like instant mesh bubbl and S so I’m going to add that as well get the bike up [Music] here windy today but I’ll tell you what riding that same bike makes all the difference there’s no way I mean I love that Marin but I won’t be able to do it I won’t be able to do it right let’s have a cup of coffee so I got cheap old minced beef and vegetable pasty bub and squeak perfect mesh going old school again tofy nut coffee do the coffee first rubbish in the bag actual fact I’ll do both these at the same time Cu uh I need the spoon and the coffee first [Music] coffee stirred and I can do the potatoes all right bub squeak leave that to do its thing and eat me past it good old tofe now time for this mashed potato now go quite nice this bubbling squeak should I say should have bought a sachche or bottle of brown sauce shouldn’t I good stuff near done with the rain starting to come down again so I’m going to finish up my coffee it a little bit further down the head home I think you see we’re up in having my lunches Castle Fields if you remember my Victorious videos the stage was set up about there the castle stage where I filmed in spiral carpets excellent they were going to see them this month for [Music] sometime how rough it is now it’s definitely getting rougher by sassy Castle two’s really blowing now blown by the wind [Music] again crosswind is strong let’s go a bit further along by the Pier South Ro Pier look at those waves pretty strong definitely got a muffer since I’ve been out get blown along again I’m not pedling not pedaling I think I going to go and take a little look underneath the paer look at [Music] that pretty rough Seas pretty R Seas you know what glad I came down today I think this is a good spot to end the video actually so uh yeah look at that pretty wild weather so I’m going to jump on the old s bike head home here is time so what
