Hey yall! I’m an avid runner and want to transition to add cycling as well. I’m looking at this bike as a starting point, and would love some help as to whether or not it’s quality. My instinct is to see if I could get it for 700 instead of 8, but I’m fairly clueless out here.

It’s a pretty nice bike but I’d look for a disc brake bike. Just so you don’t have to buy a new bike when youre looking to upgrade stuff.
Plenty of rim brake stuff still around, but new quality parts are relatively rare compared to new old stock and disc.
It’s a good bike but donanes have a reputation for being an old man’s bike cause they are.
I like rim brakes allot- lighter, zero maintenance- discs have to bleed sometimes even after you squeeze them with wheel off, and if you need discs to stop you are stopping too much.
Also there are a ton of good deals on carbon rim brake road wheels.
