Some jerk on a bike trail let his off leash dog jump in front of me the other the day. I slammed in my brakes so hard to stop I locked up the front tire and went over the handle bars. I was going pretty slow by the time I flip over.

Pretty pissed about my brand new bike.

The impact was on my aero bar handles. It broke the this little corner piece of carbon fiber. Of course canyon has no spare parts for my $15,000 triathlon bike like a bunch of jerk offs and I’m screwed now.

I have two options

1: ride it as is.
2: spend $2,000 on an after market cockpit that changes out the canyon stuff

I have my first tri of the season in 4 weeks. I don’t know what to do. Opinions on the damage?
Thoughts? Suggestions ?

Typical Canyon experience. I’m sorry you bought one-getting customer service from here on out may be spotty. Took me four months to get a replacement fork as part of the Speedmax recall.

You need to file a crash replacement claim with them. More importantly, the owner of the dog is liable for the damage here.

Canyon has the mono ski on sale, which should replace the whole double grip area with a single handle. Could be worth a shot on the quick.
