Hi. I have a tour planned in Italy this year, and I’m curious about your experiences during the hottest months. The hardest part of my trip will be crossing the Apennines.
Whole trip lenght: 2850km/ 17000m of Elevation
Average km/elevation per day: 129km/720m
I’m thinking the best time would be June or September, but it’s possible that it might be July or August.

We’ve done three different tours through Italy on our bikes in August and then into September even in early September the northern part of Italy was one. 42 Celsius near Venice first week of September ride early stay hydrated.
Not much difference between July and August.
It will be hot, and touristy.
Stay in the mountains.
