  1. Sure. Unless you think it could get knocked off I wouldn’t worry too much about making the clamp tight either. I used to hang mine by the nose of the seat from a bar in my garage.

  2. Sure. You might notice some issues with your brakes on the first couple pumps if there’s any air in the line at all but otherwise you’re good.

  3. Just make sure the bike is balanced. Maybe leave the clamp head free to rotate so there isn’t any torque on the top tube. But you could leave the saddle bag on. But why do you need it elevated? It looks like you have plenty of floor space

  4. It’s a metal frame. Clamping on the seat post is only really a concern with carbon frames.

Looks perfect to me. I always hang my bikes by the wheels from hooks in the rafters, but this is safe and gives you the added bonus of doubling as a work stand as required.

Looks fine! I’d recommend getting a dedicated bike “rack” or hook.

Looks like carboners completely washed the brains for some of the redditers-why would this skew or brake an aluminium frame that is supposed to withstand the weight of over 100kg rider and still not break?

Yeah that’s fine just don’t clamp too hard or put too much stress when wrenching on it.

It’s better if you clamp if by the seatpost.

  10. If you use reasonable force and it’s a an Aluminium frame you can leave it hanging there for decades.

you don’t need to take off your whole bag to clamp the seatpost. just undo the velcro and push the bag out of the way so the clamp will fit.
