As the chart shows, I’m barely touching large would I be best to follow the chart or size down and get a medium as I’ve heard Canyon bikes run large and it’s easier to make a smaller bike fit a bit bigger than the latter.
Looking at a Roadlite 8 AL as a commuter and for just casual / exercise riding on a mix of decent / okay pavement.

Size down. I have similar measurements where I was on the low end of an L. Went with a m size Canyon Grail CF SL7 and it fits perfect. According to Canyon themselves, they recommend going down a size when this happens.
I was right in the middle of 2XS and XS. Everyone says size down but for me, I sized up because apparently I have a longer torso/arms and shorter inseam. I’m in San Diego, Calif and lucky enough to be close to the Canyon showroom where I test rode both sizes back to back on 2 different days to be certain.
