Looking for a biking Buddy – Central Europe Tour (August)

Hi all – I’m a 35M from the UK planning a solo bikepacking trip across Central Europe this August, but I’d love some company if anyone’s keen!

The Plan:
I'll be leaving the UK by train on either Saturday 9th or Sunday 10th August (TBC), returning by Wednesday 27th. The route starts in Villach, Austria and finishes in Krakow, Poland, passing through Slovenia, Hungary, Slovakia, Austria, Czechia, and Poland. Major cities en route: Ljubljana, Budapest, Bratislava, Vienna, Brno, and Krakow.

  • Distance: ~884 miles / 1,422km
  • Elevation: ~25,000ft (7,620m) – Day 1 has the most elevation, climbing early from Villach to Ljubljana via Lake Bled. Daily average = 1683ft p/d
  • Daily goal: 50–65 miles (80–105km), with plenty of snack/photo stops
  • Route link (rough, not including campsite detours): Komoot Tour

Logistics:
I’m taking the train all the way (Eurostar > Brussels > Germany > Austria), which takes about 24 hours. Less hassle than boxing a bike for a flight, and easier to return from a different country. That said, I’m open to meeting up with someone along the route if you’d rather fly and meet at the start or midway — whatever works best for you.

Damn, I will just be back when you start. I am doing Munich-Passau-Danube to budapest-slovenia-julian alps-back to Munich through Villach. Doing it alone and first time biketouring so a buddy for some part of the ride is welcome too

RIP I’ll be in Slovenia around a month before you mate, also from the UK heading toward Istanbul
